It’s so lovely here in Venice. Despite my headache, because I caught too much wind yesterday on the beach. Waking up besides the quiet Venice Canals is the best thing after ice cream at Tichy’s in Vienna or riding the bike along the beach from Venice to Santa Monica. That’s 2:1 for Venice.
After arriving on Wednesday and falling asleep soon after, I had a wonderful day yesterday. Before mentioned bike ride really happened early in the morning, bums still sleeping along the beach, the sun rising high fast at 8 in the morning, people sitting in cafes enjoying their breakfast, marketeers prepping their merchandise fighting for space. The only sad thing was the saddle of my bike, as it moves around like a seesaw and giving me a hard time to hang on the bike. This builds muscles, right? I have to find me a screwdriver but so far no luck.
After breathing in a lot of sea air and soaking up the sun and view I headed back to my place. Finally deciding to get in the car and go for some grocery shopping at Whole Foods.
I can tell you this place was driving me nuts. In a good way. They have so much goodness there, I will never manage to eat all of it in the two weeks I am here. If you are from Europe, you’ve never seen something like this. They even have Sushi cooks in the middle of the market constantly making fresh Sushi. I hoped to lose some weight while I’m in LA, but I don’t think this will happen.
After that I was off with Ferny Chien (@FernyChien) for lunch on the beach. He lives in Venice and he was the one who showed me Venice and the canals back in December when I visited LA last. Ferny, thanks for that and lunch again. I’m so blessed to know you. You are one of the nicest guys in the world.
After lunch I bought some water at Ralph’s, because it was the one thing I went to Whole Foods for and the one thing I totally forgot to buy with all the other stuff in view.
As my stay in Venice was intended as a vacation I drove home to get some rest. Unpacking the sweetness of the fruits and the fruit loops I bought, just because I can. I don’t know if we have them in Europe, probably yes, but I would never buy them there. I was curious how they taste, everyone loves them, well so do I now. They have funny colors and look and taste good in a white bowl with milk.
Then I had to manage some meetings for today, the weekend and next week. So much going on, so many people to see again, meet and hang out with. Last time in December the one week I was there, was crazy busy, but this time with almost 2 weeks staying in LA it’s even more crazy. Meeting today with Kenny (@geekyfanboy) for lunch in Santa Monica and Laurie (@laurierecords) is visiting in the evening. Later that night there is a birthday party going on in Hollywood. Don’t know if we can make it there, but it would be fun. On the other hand, tomorrow I will be on the set of The Guild (@theguild) and on Sunday on the set of Replaced (@replacedSeries) a pilot for a webseries I’m slightly involved with as Associate Producer.
As you can see, not much vacation in Venice on the weekend for me. Sorry Carter Mason (@cartermason) I have to cancel the champagne brunch on Sunday. Being on a set is a dream come true.
