Sunday I had the honor to see Heath Vinyard (@HeathVinyard) at work on the set of his series Replaced (@replacedseries). They are currently making the pilot of this very interesting idea of his. I loved to be on set in Tustin - Orange County. The weather gods though weren’t so happy about it in the first place and sent us rain and heavy wind. So the shooting started late. But with tight planning and good actors they managed even with occasional disturbances from wind, planes and sirens to finish the shoot on schedule.
It was a completely different experience than the Guild shoot the day before. And Heath has this Joss Whedon-y feeling to me. In a good way! Everyone on set was nice and caring and it was a wonderful day just like being with “family”. Although Rob Gokee (@robgokee) posted a lot of photos that he took of me while I wasn’t paying attention. But I did the same. And in the end we all ended up being low on battery on our smartphones and constantly running back to the building recharging at least a bit. But it was fun and I loved that I had the chance to be there.
And just so you know, everything I currently experience here in LA and surroundings wasn’t planned. This things are all coming up on a day by day basis. I never plan anything when I fly to LA, there is way too much going on and I let it just flow.
Anyway it was great to meet/see again a lot of people on Sunday including Heath’s wife Erika (@erikavinyard), Rob’s fiancé Allison Vanore (@alliecine), Diane Beck (@beckdiane), Susyn Elise Duris (@SusynEliseDuris), Charity Hill-Gant (@CHARITY_GANT), Jorge Bicer (@OCfilms), dead body #5 Corey Levine (@CoreyLevin), Robb Padget (@robbpadgett), Tanya Ihnen (@chezsarcastica), then the cast Lisa Catara, Jon Briddell and David (whose last name I don’t know) and a lot more not on Twitter.
Today is moving day. I have to get going now. I’m leaving the beautiful Venice Canals for busy Hollywood where I will stay for the rest of my “vacation”.
